Apps

The HWD POS apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, what each one is for and how they connect to your server.

HWD POS runs on your own server. The staff use it through three apps that connect to that server and open the same screens as the user manual. These pages cover the apps for HWD POS 1.0.27.

AppPlatformsWho uses itWithout connection

The desktop app and HWD POS mobile need the server all the time: if the connection is lost, they show a message and wait for it to come back. Only HWD POS Delivery saves the day's deliveries on the device and records deliveries without signal.

What the apps add to a browser

HWD POS also opens in a web browser, but some features exist only in the apps:

The administrator can turn off «Permitir acceso desde navegador web» (Allow web browser access) in Configuración (Settings). From then on only the apps open the system: a web browser gets "page not found".

Before installing

  1. The server must be installed and activated (guides).
  2. Each device must reach the server: on the store's network (local address, for example http://192.168.1.20) or from outside through a public address, if you have one.
  3. Each device needs a free place in the license: every registered device counts.
  4. Read Connecting devices: it explains the two server addresses and how a device is registered.
